Malaica is a digital health startup transforming maternal care in Kenya. We offer personalised, tech-enabled pregnancy support from the beginning of pregnancy until the baby is six months old. Our goal is to ensure that every woman has a safe and joyful pregnancy.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a driven, creative, and hands-on Senior Product Manager to help shape the future of Malaica’s experience and its most powerful differentiator: the Malaica Community. You’ll play a central role in building products that engage expectant mothers both digitally and in person. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on maternal health in Africa.

You’ll report to the Chief Product Officer and collaborate across teams, from care to tech to content, all while staying close to our end users.

Responsibilities

• Own: Lead and grow key product areas that define the Malaica experience
• Differentiate: Shape our unique value proposition into standout, competitive features
• Understand: Dive deep into mums’ needs through research, interviews, and real-world engagement
• Build: Turn insights into intuitive, beautiful products with design, engineering, and crossfunctional teams
• Experimente: Rapidly prototype and test ideas to learn what resonates
• Measure: Track success through metrics focused on impact, NPS, and retention
• Elevate: Craft emotionally resonant journeys that bring Malaica’s care and community to life and shine
• Stay ahead: Monitor market trends and best practice to keep Malaica innovative and relevant

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Bachelor degree in a business, technology, or healthcare related field
• Purpose-driven: Passion for women’s and maternal health, digital innovation, and social impact
• Experienced: 3+ years in product management, including 1+ in a senior or lead role
• User-focused: Proven ability to design end-to-end consumer experiences, ideally in health or community spaces
• Retention-minded: Track record of building emotionally intelligent, high-retention products
• Tech and design-savvy: Strong UX instincts and ease working closely with design and engineering
• Collaborative: Excellent communicator who aligns and energises cross-functional teams
• Empathetic: Deeply user-obsessed, you build with care and intention
• Proactive: Self-starter who takes ownership and drives initiatives forward
• Bonus: Master degree, experience in healthcare, built community features, or mobile/web app development, coding skills
