We’re fully remote and flexible.

We are a completely remote company. We have employees across all the time zones in the contiguous US as well as Canada and Brazil.

We currently are only accepting applications from candidates in the US, Canada, and Brazil. We aren’t currently able to support H1-B Visa holders.

YOUR ROLE

As an HR Generalist at Allovue you’ll report to the VP of People and often collaborate with VP of Finance and/or the Senior Executive Manager to fully execute Allovue’s key HR initiatives, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, professional development, company culture, and general HR policies, processes, and compliance. You’ll contribute to the Allovue mission by:

  • Staying up-to-date on cultural and legislative shifts that could impact HR
  • Fostering a healthy and responsive work environment that moves urgently and purposefully, but always with compassion
  • Ensuring compliance, while maintaining our values of equity and inclusion
  • Believing in the Allovue vision and working to attract and retain key talent to fulfill our mission

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the recruitment process for open positions including scheduling interviews and reviewing applicants, working alongside the VP of People and individual hiring manager(s)
  • Manage the “Pitch Your Own Position” job listing, responding to applicants regularly
  • Support the VP of People in managing employee performance review process
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with the VP of People and leadership on researching and implementing initiatives that can further streamline fully remote work
  • Work with the VP of People and VP of Finance to administer employee benefits and work with benefits providers
  • Research/audit technology partners that specialize in employee benefits management, cultural impact, and more
  • Conduct/support investigations into employee complaints and concerns and recommend appropriate actions
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures

 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 3 years of experience in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Experience with remote work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and project management skills

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Software (Elixir) Developer at Allovue, you will have the important responsibility to build web applications that enable resources to be allocated equitably to K-12 students. You can contribute to our mission by:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate tasks to implement approved product ideas
  • Document your pull requests as a communication tool to the team, including providing QA steps for product managers and directing other engineers toward notable changes.
  • Provide feedback to your team members on their pull requests, including code quality changes as well as comments and responses for the rest of the team to learn from.
  • “Leave it better than you found it” – proactively refactor complex code, add documentation, and/or improve test coverage as you work in a part of our codebase.
  • Contribute to our “Techy Talk Tuesdays” to spread best practices and technical knowledge
 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Significant experience developing and maintaining web applications
  • Relational Database/SQL expertise
  • Maintained a production web application long enough to have suffered from your own bad decisions
  • Experience teaching and helping other engineers
  • Experience collaborating and planning with multiple types of product stakeholders
  • Experience using multiple programming languages, libraries, frameworks, and tools
  • Experience writing maintainable, automated tests
  • Experience using Git version control system
  • Experience having the primary responsibility to deliver large product features
  • Experience modeling domain data to support current and anticipated functionality
  • Experience investigating performance “hot spots” to determine root causes of slow performance, develop a plan for remediation, and execute on that plan.

YOUR ROLE

As an Account Executive, you will be integral in developing your territory by partnering with school districts across the country to ensure they are making every dollar work for every student. Specifically, you will be responsible for managing the sales cycle between qualified lead to close, presenting and demoing virtually or in person with school and district leaders, supporting the RFP team as applicable, leveraging your organizational abilities, using our CRM and processes to develop your pipeline, communicating cross-functionally on sales and marketing strategies, ensuring a smooth transition to the Customer Success team for district success, and travel up to 25% of the time, including travel to districts and relevant events or conferences. Your success will be measured by the opportunities you close and the relationships you build and maintain.

- Oversee the success plan for a specific geographic sales territory, strategizing with Business Development and Solutions Engineer in that territory

- Be the primary contact and accurately demonstrate and discuss Allovue’s offerings with the district

- Build and maintain productive relationships with prospective customers

- Collaborate with the VP of Business Development to formulate a plan that will lead to hitting your goal, with the full assistance of the company, to make you successful.

- Manage territory deal cycles from qualified lead through to close, including HubSpot data accuracy

- Learn the product and industry to accurately demonstrate product offerings and match needs to our solutions

- Comfort leading contract negotiations while maintaining appropriate sales margins

- Become a trusted partner by staying informed of education finance policy and news nationally and for your geographic territory

- Strategize to receive referrals and warm introductions to potential customers

- Travel to districts, conferences, events and on-site meetings

 

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for someone who is:

- Consistently successful in B2B sales for a minimum of 5 years and can provide those deliverables

- Able to cultivate personal relationships with potential clients to become a trusted advisor, and always asks great questions

- Comfortable with fully remote work, highly communicative, and able to juggle being both self-motivated for independent work and reliably collaborative to work as a team

- Able to embrace feedback and hold themselves accountable

- A lifelong learner and eager to expand their knowledge in K12 school finance

- Proficient with HubSpot, G-Suite (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar), Microsoft Office, and Dropbox

IDEALLY, YOU HAVE:

- Sold school district-level software working closely with cabinet members or district-wide administrators

- Showcased strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

- Demonstrated experience with territory and call cycle management, as well as strong customer service and listening skills

- Proficiency with HubSpot, G-Suite (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar), Microsoft Office, and Dropbox

- Operated effectively within a remote team and home office setting, utilizing Slack and Zoom to build relationships and accomplish goals.

- Worked with Districts between 15K-40K students and carried a $1M+ quota for new business and hit that goal at 90% or above each year.

 

COMPENSATION

- Salary range: $92,769 - $125,511, based on experience

YOUR ROLE

As Allovue’s Research Manager, you will expand the capacity and impact of our growing Professional Services team by playing a key role in new research projects. You will report to our Director of Professional Services and manage key education finance research projects in collaboration with our internal R&D resources as well as external research partners. You will build relationships with school and district administrators in order to understand systems, processes, and challenges relevant to research objectives, including conducting user research and testing. You will work in a cross-functional collaborative capacity with our Professional Services and Product teams to accomplish research goals. Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills are essential.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to and co-develop ground-breaking education finance research projects and deliverables that will have a national impact on the future of K-12 education for practitioners and researchers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct focus groups and interviews to understand school district processes and pain points.
  • Gather/develop product requirements alongside Allovue UX/design and product management staff utilizing an iterative, design-thinking process.
  • Translate academic and robust research findings from program evaluation into practical language for practitioners.
  • Proactively identify potential implementation barriers and leverage R&D resources to mitigate these obstacles
  • Recruit and train school district personnel to participate in pilot user testing and analysis
  • Manage milestones and deliverables against a defined timeline and budget and write quarterly progress reports for relevant stakeholders
  • Manage Research Data Associates on data collection and analysis tasks
  • Write summaries of research and analysis findings and recommendations

 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • +3 years experience coordinating or managing multi-year research/data projects
  • Proficient in at least one core area of domain expertise: K-12 education finance, cost-effectiveness research, instructional intervention strategy implementation
  • Ability to read and interpret program evaluation research, particularly causal inference in public policy and schools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop qualitative interview protocols and document collection processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicates intermediate and advanced research concepts to non-academic stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated ability to correctly estimate the complexity of work required to accomplish intermediate tasks aligned to multi-year project deliverables
  • Experience with statistical/data analysis software packages such as R, Stata, SPSS, and/or Python outside of a classroom environment.

  • Experience using and/or navigating an open-source research repository (e.g. What Works Clearinghouse, Results4America)

Our Hiring Process

We believe in a fair and transparent application and hiring process. Salary ranges are posted for every job and you’ll never be asked about prior compensation. Our hiring process is conducted remotely and takes between two to four weeks.

1. Introduction

This brief phone call gives us an opportunity to get to know you and explain the role you are applying for.

2. Initial Interview

You will have a chance to get to know team members across the company and ensure we align with mindsets and values. 

3. Performance Demonstration

You will complete a skill-based task (no more than 90 minutes) related to the role (for example, creating cold outreach emails for a sales role or teaming up on a coding task for developers). 

4. Final Interview

You will meet with the CEO, department head, and hiring manager and will have a chance to ask any remaining questions.
