Head of Sales, Japan

The Head of Sales will be responsible for all sales activities for sales-led growth in Japan. The business in Japan has grown significantly in the last 2 years, and we’re looking for an experienced sales leader to orchestrate the next period of evolution in the Japan region. Reporting to the Head of Japan, this role will be a key member of the sales leadership team.
They will take a proactive approach to attracting, developing and empowering talent within the team, and will have experience and capability to drive forward a modern GTM with customers in the Corporate and Enterprise segments.
This role is based in our Tokyo office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. Along with most Asanas, you’ll work from this office in person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays. If you're interviewing for this role, your Talent Acquisition Partner will share more about the in-office requirements.
What you’ll achieve:
Strategy:
- Own the development of a multi-year strategy to win the Japan market through commercial leadership.
- Partner strongly with local marketing, Sales Engineering and Customer Success Management colleagues to implement the strategy.
Leadership:
- Encourage cross-functional partners and a full stack customer team to execute a high-reaching GTM plan to win.
- Hire, nurture, develop talent & career paths for all Asanas in the Japan region.
- Effective cross-functional and international influence to implement strategy – ability to lead in a matrix organization.
- Represent Asana with C-level customers and prospects in-region.
About You:
- Strong level of Sales Leadership experience working in a high growth B2B software company with responsibility for leading the Japan region.
- Intellectually curious, open-minded and intrinsically motivated by the greatest challenges.
- Empowering leader who enables their team to orchestrate growth, with a clear and consistent track record of continued success over time.
- Highly collaborative, effective partner across the team; comfortable operating within matrix management.
- Leads with empathy and curiosity - a respectful leader who can influence through sensible, thoughtful communication and execution.
- Nurtures an inclusive environment and values diversity.
- Fluency in Japanese and English languages.
- Comfortable with travel up to 30%

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between 19,125,000 JPY - 25,875,000 JPY. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
