Asana is building a world-class Order to Cash Management team to help achieve our operational and financial goals while embodying our Asana values. The Assistant Corporate Controller for Accounting & Reporting will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of global accounting and financial reporting by providing leadership, business collaboration, process knowledge and technical expertise to Asana Finance. This leader will lead the following teams within the Accounting function: Technical Accounting and External Reporting, Global Close and Consolidation and GL Operations.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. Along with most Asanas, you’ll work from this office in person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays. If you're interviewing for this role, your Talent Acquisition Partner will share more about the in-office requirements.

What you’ll achieve

  • Overall lead for the company’s monthly and quarterly close and external reporting processes with a focus on driving continuous process and systems improvements (i.e. quality and efficiency of output) to enable optimal business decisions and outcomes
  • Own the development and implementation of Asana’s accounting policies, adapting to the changes in our business as well as the evolution of US GAAP
  • Partner closely with the Finance senior leadership team (including Legal, FP&A, Investor Relations, Tax and Treasury) to ensure alignment of accounting with both finance and business objectives
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure a strong control and compliance framework with corporate SOX and key controls, adherence to US GAAP and other statutory requirements and oversight for external/internal audits and reviews
  • Team Management: Leading, supervising and coaching global teams responsible for Technical accounting, monthly/quarterly close and external reporting

About you

  • 15-20+ years of Accounting/Finance-related experience, with majority in corporate accounting-type roles, including a mix of Big 4 and high-tech industry experience
  • Track record of building new capabilities, with a process orientation and efficiency mindset
  • A proven leader with the passion for coaching, mentoring and building thriving global teams
  • Lead and thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with unstructured requests
  • CPA or equivalent

To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $241,000 - $325,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
