Asana

Accounting & Finance
San Francisco, CA, USA
Posted on Wednesday, March 27, 2024

At Asana, you’ll be a part of a world-class finance team aimed at achieving operational and financial goals while upholding our company values. As a crucial member of the Strategic Finance team, you’ll connect Asana’s operational and business strategies, shaping long-term financial outcomes. Collaborating with finance, business, and product teams, you will turn data into actionable insights and help solve Asana’s most complex challenges by identifying, analyzing, and synthesizing the factors driving our growth.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.

What you’ll achieve

  • Partner with senior leadership to build and enhance long-term forecasting models that support critical growth and operational strategies for Asana’s go-to-market & product teams, with a particular focus on the Enterprise segment
  • Develop a strong understanding of Asana’s business model and translate the long-term impact to Asana’s performance from near-term business decisions (and vice versa) in order to make key recommendations to leadership
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, business, and product teams, using financial modeling and analysis to guide and influence strategic business choices
  • Bring effective and scalable solutions to processes and models, supporting company-wide strategic planning and forecasting processes through efficient methods
  • Act as a trusted advisor to finance, business, and product leadership; taking part in quarterly and annual business reviews and earnings processes
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses as required

About you:

  • 5+ years of applicable and progressive experience in strategic or corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, or consulting
  • Excellent business judgment and intellectual curiosity; proven ability to turn (sometimes incomplete) data into actionable insights and recommendations and present findings clearly and concisely to senior management
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets required. As a willing learner, you want to boost these skills with SQL and/or data visualization tools like Tableau and Snowflake
  • Display autonomy and effective project planning, cultivating productive relationships cross-functionally with superior planning, process management, and organizational skills
  • Hold a degree in finance, accounting, engineering, mathematics, economics, or a related quantitative field; prior experience with enterprise software / SaaS business models a plus
  • Strong work ethic and team-first attitude: humility and humor make for a high-impact contributor

At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.

What we’ll offer

Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should reflect the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value, so we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit.

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $164,000 and $208,000.
