Job Summary: Blavity Inc. is looking for a Coordinator, Marketing Operations. This position is a W2, contract position responsible for curating and producing culturally relevant marketing content for Blavity Inc.’s Live Events brand brand. The Coordinator will support in creating and reviewing marketing campaign materials for all AfroTech and Blavity House Party events. This role will also engage with our community of global followers with social listening and comment moderation while assisting in other daily programmatic tasks for the Marketing team.The ideal candidate for this position is ready to roll their sleeves up and wear multiple marketing hats at a fast-paced media company.
This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Marketing Operations.
Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage events in Eventbrite and on afrotechevents.com, including event setup and community management
- Submit creative and newsletter requests to support marketing campaign launches
- Review marketing materials for quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to update and track tasks based on campaign plans
- Manage the AFROTECH Connect app, creating and scheduling feed posts and push notifications
- Assist with post-event marketing reporting, collecting and summarizing campaign performance data
- Perform light copywriting (email, social copy, marketing blurbs, and AT Connect messaging)
Qualifications:
- Education:
- B.A./B.S. in Business, Marketing, Media Studies, Communication, Advertising preferred
- Relevant work experience may be substituted for the above
- Required Experience:
- 1-3 years of event marketing, social media management, or content creation
- Technologies:
- Fluent in Canva, Eventbrite, Google Suite, Asana, and/or comparable project management suite
- Working knowledge of WordPress, TikTok, Facebook/Instagram, YouTube, Linkedin, Twitter, and Discord
- Additional Qualifications:
- Creative mindset with a deep understanding of what Black audiences consume on social media and how to create it
- Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
- Comfort with ambiguity and a proven love for transforming unorganized/complex data into rigorously structured, insight-oriented solutions
- High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats
- Naturally detail-oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings
- A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
Details:
- This is a fully remote, U.S.- based role. Occasional travel may be required.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Candidates must be available to work in 50% alignment with the Pacific Time Zone.
- The hourly rate for this role is $30.
