Position Summary

BeesWorks is seeking a Program Associate to serve as a dynamic bridge between BrightBee’s field operations and internal programs. Program Associates take on diverse assignments, ranging from direct support roles in schools to internal training and community engagement efforts. This is an ideal position for experienced BrightBee professionals who are looking to deepen their involvement and help shape the future of educational staffing and programming.


Key Responsibilities

Field Assignments at Local Schools & Nonprofits

  • Complete at least two BrightBee assignments per week, providing instructional or operational support in K–12 schools and nonprofits across California.
  • Serve in a variety of roles including paraprofessional, classroom aide, afterschool staff, front office staff, or operations specialist, depending on school needs and individual qualifications and interests.

Talent Development

  • Conduct interviews with prospective BrightBee applicants as part of the BrightBee supply program.
  • Lead or support new worker orientation sessions, both virtually and in person.
  • Observe, coach, and mentor new BrightBee workers during their initial assignments, providing feedback and support.

Program Support

  • Assist in program planning, curriculum preparation, and event coordination.
  • Create and refine professional development materials for internal staff use.
  • Collaborate with the BrightBee team to improve workflows and support systems for workers and partners.

Marketing and Outreach

  • Promote BrightBee in the community by participating in school outreach visits or “Buzz-Bys” to deliver welcome packages and promotional materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with school staff and administrators during site visits.
  • Represent BrightBee at community events such as job fairs, back to school nights, and family nights.


Qualifications

  • 48 hours of college credit completed, or a passing score on the ParaPro exam.
  • Significant experience in K–12 education, including at least 50 completed assignments through the BrightBee platform.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take the initiative in an environment with limited supervision.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of different school and community environments.
  • Must have reliable transportation for local travel.

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Hours: Minimum of 15 hours/week; up to 40 hours/week based on availability and organizational needs.
  • Compensation: Hourly; rate commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: Eligible for benefits if consistently working 30+ hours per week.
