Delivery Drivers will prepare, load, assemble, deliver and pickup items for schools and catered events. It may be necessary to assist with an alternate route. This position is also involved with the setup, cleanup and distribution of meals and drinks at the school campus. This position includes onsite purchases, receipts and professional interaction with school staff.
During your interview we will go into detail about what assignments are available at these sites. The more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing
- Driver must deliver each school on time with minimal delay – each day.
- Safe driving at all times and on-time arrival to NHC office to begin shift (Observe proper school speeds at all times)
- Load truck completely and verify that all products and correct quantities for Delivery are present.
- Check and log temperature of food being loaded to the truck to ensure proper temperature before departure.
- Verify that correct meal, drink and side quantities are present per school
- Return Route - Pick up all items from earlier deliveries, return binders, money, gas cards and any additional items to NHC office staff.
- Driver is expected to work with Warehouse Manager to make timing adjustments to his/her route as necessary to ensure that schools are always delivered on time.
- Arrival to school location a minimum of 15 minutes in advance to allow for setup time
- Counting meals and notifying office immediately if issues arise
- Check and log the temperature of food to ensure proper temperature when dropping meals of at school
- Safe operation of food service equipment
- Some interaction with Health Dept. may be required (Please notify Mike, when Health Dept. is present)
- Follow Health & Safety Guidelines
- Line Breakdown and consolidation
- May require off-site meal purchase in case of emergency
- Maintain clean trucks, empty personal items and garbage upon your exit
- Communicate to NHC staff if directions are required for your route
- Additional deliveries may be required

✅ Basic Requirements
- This position requires a valid CA driver’s license (class C)
- A clean DMV record
- Personal cell phone for emergencies and a Bluetooth/headset while driving the company vehicle.
- Must undergo Food Handler’s training and exam
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

- Pass a background check
- Follow safety and reporting guidelines
- Complete required school clearances which you are responsible for paying.
- Costs associated with the clearance process are the sole responsibility of the candidate, as this engagement is for an independent contractor role rather than a traditional employment position. Requirements vary by state but may include the cost of a background check, obtaining a copy of any college transcript you have, and the cost of completing Mandated Reporter training. The average cost of completing clearance in California for this role is between $123-214.
