Role Description
We are looking for an experienced controls engineering technician to join the new and growing operations team, responsible for developing novel equipment used to manufacture electrodes for Form Energy’s commercial product. This role offers an exciting opportunity to bring novel manufacturing equipment to life and maintain a cycle of continuous improvement.
Reporting to our Associate Manager, Equipment Maintenance, you will be part of a group working on equipment and processes for manufacturing. In this role, you will sustain control systems for both simple and complex manufacturing systems, from isolated machine cells to fully automated process lines.
Bringing your experience in control system programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting, you will work closely with a wide variety of teams both on the technical and operational sides of Form.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial controls equipment
Provide electrical and controls support for the production operations and maintenance departments, including troubleshooting control and electrical issues and problem resolution as they relate to equipment and process downtime, throughput improvement, and/or any safety concerns
Ensure plant automated equipment, robots, PLC’s, and process control equipment, is functioning as designed/required
Responsible for minor PLC and HMI software changes, including improvements, and troubleshooting of existing equipment
Utilize input from production, maintenance supervisors, operators, vendors, and service providers to provide troubleshooting assistance and make improvements
Responsible for following all Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
Work with Engineers and other Technicians on new automated process equipment for deployment into production.
Work with engineers to layout and fabricate machine control panels
What You’ll Bring:
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems
Understand how to use and read various types of monitoring and control equipment to ensure the systems are working properly
Problem-solving skills
Attention to detail when testing and troubleshooting equipment
Recording data and documenting procedures
Experience in control panel fabrication and modification
Experience in sensor integration
Minimum of an associate degree, Certification in Automation, Journeyman Electrician, or significant controls experience in a Manufacturing Environment
