Editorial Operations Associate

Hamlet’s mission is to make public information more accessible. We are a venture-backed startup using AI to transform mountains of unstructured data into a digestible format that gives our private- and public-sector customers a sizable information advantage.

What You’ll Do

As an Editorial Operations Associate, you’ll support the creation and refinement of our AI-generated content. Your work will include collecting public data, editing AI outputs for accuracy and clarity, and ensuring customer deliveries across our products. You’ll collaborate closely with team members, gaining exposure to core processes and tools. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, curious, and excited to grow within a fast-paced, remote-first startup.

Employment and Work Environment:

  • Employment Type: 90-day contract, up to 40 hours/week, with potential for full-time hire
  • Remote Work: Fully remote; optional hybrid available if located near Seattle or the Bay Area

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection & Organization: Gather and structure public data from government and third-party sources for AI processing
  • Content Editing: Review and refine AI-generated summaries for clarity, accuracy, and completeness
  • Quality Tracking: Help monitor AI output performance and flag issues for internal review
  • Process Execution: Follow established editorial workflows to ensure customer deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and interest in working with AI-generated content
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow structured editorial processes
  • Clear, proactive communication skills in a remote environment
  • Comfortable using online collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Notion)
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks independently and meeting deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with content editing, data research, and quality assurance
  • Familiarity with collaborative tools like Notion, Slack, and project management platforms
  • Interest in AI, public data, or civic/government content (technical expertise not required)
  • Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced work environment

Compensation & Benefits

Starting hourly contract role at $35/hour, with a potential full time offer with benefits after evaluation period.
