We are seeking a strategic and results-driven VP of Sales & Marketing with a proven track record of scaling
revenue in a professional services or B2B tech environment. The successful candidate will drive our transition to a high-velocity sales organization, leading a high-performing team of "indinerians"; to achieve a 30% year-over-year growth in new client bookings.
They will have a deep understanding of the sales lifecycle for high-value B2B services (Accounting, Tax, CFO
services) and the ability to unify sales execution with marketing strategy.
This role will oversee the sales and marketing organization, specifically managing Business Development Directors, Sales Development Support, Marketing and a network of 3rd party agencies/contractors. This role will partner with key stakeholders in Delivery and Finance to assess, create, and articulate a compelling value proposition that attracts high-growth startups and established businesses seeking financial peace of mind.
Oversee the development and implementation of company-wide growth initiatives that improve lead generation,
conversion rates, and brand visibility while enhancing sales operations. Communicate the importance of a unified revenue strategy, shifting the emphasis from siloed activities to a cohesive "Smarketing" model.
The VP of Sales & Marketing must align the revenue culture with the mission of helping clients succeed. Every
prospect interaction must reflect our core promise of providing expert financial guidance and technology-driven
efficiency.
Duties and responsibilities will grow and evolve.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
● Drive Revenue Growth: Own the bookings number, driving the team to achieve aggressive percentage
growth targets greater than 30% in new client bookings for the coming fiscal year.
● Sales Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and motivate a team of 3 Business Development Directors
(Sales Reps) and 1 Sales Development Support professional to exceed individual and team quotas.
● Marketing Strategy & Oversight: Guide the Marketing Manager and manage a variety of 3rd party
agencies to execute campaigns that generate high-quality leads and reinforce indinero’s brand as the
premier financial ally for startups.
● Cross-Functional Alignment: Build strong alignment with peers in Client Success (CCO), Delivery, and
Finance to ensure the “promise” made during sales is achievable and profitable.
● Process Optimization: Create proactive, repeatable sales playbooks and marketing workflows to drive
consistently strong conversion rates and shorten sales cycles.
● Operational Excellence: Improve efficiency in the sales organization by driving productivity, increasing
CRM automation, and enhancing sales enablement tools.
● Metrics & Forecasting: Define early risk and health indicators for the pipeline; provide accurate revenue
forecasts and data-driven reporting to the CEO and Board.
● Market Intelligence: Act as the market expert, infusing the voice of the prospect into product and service
development to ensure our offerings (CFO services, Tax, Accounting) remain competitive.
● Partner Strategy: Create a comprehensive channel partner strategy, identifying and onboarding strategic
partners who can refer high-value clients.
● Hands-on Engagement: Engage directly with high-value prospects and assist in closing complex deals
when necessary.
● Talent Development: Recruit, motivate, and retain a high-performing revenue organization, driving
employee engagement, satisfaction, and morale.
Qualification and Skills:
● Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
● 10+ years of experience in B2B sales and marketing, preferably within the financial services, professional
services, or SaaS industries.
● Proven Growth Track Record: Demonstrated experience driving double-digit percentage growth in new
business bookings year-over-year.
● Hybrid Leadership Experience: Unique ability to manage both sales hunters (Business Development
Directors) and marketing strategy (Marketing Manager + Agencies).
● Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the accounting, tax, and CFO services landscape, or experience
selling to the Office of the CFO.
● Strong Analytical Mindset: Data-driven approach to pipeline management, CAC (Customer Acquisition
Cost), and LTV (Lifetime Value) analysis.
● Communication Mastery: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft
compelling narratives for clients and internal stakeholders.
● Tech Savvy: Proficient with applicable software applications such as Salesforce/HubSpot (CRM), sales
engagement tools, and marketing automation platforms.
● Expert Empathy & EQ: High emotional intelligence to manage a diverse team and connect with business
owners/founders navigating complex financial challenges.
● Strategic & Tactical: Ability to create strategies, guidelines, and objectives and implement them while
driving business growth.
● Problem-Solving: Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities to navigate a fast-paced, evolving
market environment.
Internal Performance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Revenue & Growth Targets
○ New Business Bookings Growth: Achieve Greater than 30% Year-over-Year growth in new client bookings.
○ Forecast Accuracy: Maintain a forecast accuracy of +/- 10% on a quarterly basis to support
Finance and Delivery planning.
● Pipeline & Marketing Effectiveness
○ Pipeline Coverage Ratio: Maintain a rolling pipeline of 2.5x to 3x of the quarterly booking target
to mitigate risk.
○ Sales Sourced Pipeline: Sales team to self-source greater than 20% of qualified opportunities (SQLs) to
complement inbound marketing efforts.
○ Lead Response Time: Achieve an average response time of less than 2 hour for inbound MQLs
(Marketing Qualified Leads) during business hours.
● Efficiency & Unit Economics
○ CAC Payback Period: Target a Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) payback period of less than 12 months.
○ LTV:CAC Ratio: Aim for a Lifetime Value to CAC ratio of 4:1 or higher.
● Quality & Alignment
○ Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) Adherence: Ensure greater than 90% of new bookings match the defined ICP.
○ Partner Referral Growth: Generate 10% of new bookings through the partner ecosystem
strategy (e.g., VC firms, banks, legal partners).
