Our mission is to use Metaverse technologies to expose students to global educational opportunities so they can be prepared for a highly technical future. We do so by creating educator tools that promote 21st-century learning skills. These tools include kid-friendly content, lesson plans, Metaverse makerspaces, professional development, and more. We aim to give 1M kids access to Metaverse technologies by 2030.

By 2024 the United States is expected to have a 50% shortage of tech graduates. Meanwhile, the digital divide continues to grow wider each day as students in underserved communities lack access to basic tech such as laptops and Wi-Fi.

Kai XR’s mixed reality SaaS platform serves as an entry point to emerging tech for students. We pique children’s interest into emerging tech by using our 360˚ field trips where they can explore the world while learning new, in-demand tech skills. Our educational resources offer educators, parents, & students an accessible path to become early adopters of virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality.

The Kai XR team is looking for a mission-aligned driven individual to anchor and building solid Sales foundations. As Kai XR’s first sales hire, this person will have the opportunity to shape and scale our end-to-end sales processes. As the fifth full-time employee, this role is a highly collaborative role working in sync with marketing, product, and customer success.


  • Monitor and evaluate Ed Tech and Metaverse industry trends and customer drivers
  • Collaborate with marketing on outbound campaigns and qualify inbound leads
  • Manage sales pipeline, proposal response process, prospects, interactions, and deals in CRM
  • Lead sales demos of the Kai XR platform virtually and during in-person events
  • Listen, interpret, and articulate feedback from prospects and customers to help inform our product roadmap.
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, and select the deals aligned with business strategy
  • Take a lead role in the development of new business materials to create and nurture opportunities and partnerships
  • Build and maintain a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with business goals
  • Continually educate yourself about new feature releases and adapt your approach to demos and training sessions.
  • Increasingly develop and implement overarching sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
  • Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis


  • 3 months: Strengthen existing partnerships; Establish new relationships with districts and schools
  • 6-9 months: Finalize engagements for the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Travel up to 30% mainly in the Southeast/South region.

What will help you succeed:

  • Excitement about new technologies, education, and user experience. We’re in a constantly evolving space working with customers that value consistently and stability
  • Experience and knowledge of school buying cycles. Experience selling EdTech or selling into the K-8 market
  • Empathy and humility to understand customers’ needs. Prior experience win edtech or working within the educational field is helpful
  • Enthusiasm in improving or building new processes and configuring tools as needed
  • Excellent detail and process orientation with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven time-management skills. As a fully-remote team, we trust you to do take the initiative in doing your best work when and where you need to
  • Previous sales experience, with proven ability to set, maintain and exceed sales goals

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with configuring CRMs
  • Early-stage startup experience
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting

What You’ll Get

  • The salary range for this position is $50,000-$95,000 (Base + Commission)
