Malaica is a digital health startup transforming maternal care in Kenya. We offer personalized, tech-enabled pregnancy support from the beginning of pregnancy until the baby is six months old. Our goal is to ensure that every woman has a safe and joyful pregnancy.
Role Overview
We are looking for a driven, creative, and hands-on Marketing Intern to support our fast-growing brand. You’ll help us build awareness, engage with expectant mothers, and refine our messaging across digital and offline channels. This is a great opportunity to gain startup experience while making a real impact on maternal health in Africa.
Responsibilities
- Support with online and offline marketing such as events, PR, influencer marketing, social media management (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement
- Assist with campaign planning and performance tracking
- Help design and distribute digital assets (e.g. flyers, visuals, simple video edits)
- Collaborate with the medical team and operations to highlight user success stories
- Help manage our content calendar and reporting dashboards
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in marketing
- Passion for women's health, digital innovation, or social impact
- Strong writing and communication skills in both English and Swahili
- Familiarity with social media and content tools (Google Workspace, Meta Suite, TikTok etc.)
- Self-starter attitude: able to work independently and take initiative
- Bonus: experience with basic video editing, design, or data analysis
