Senior Registrar – Obstetrics and Gynaecology

With a fast‑growing team and a strong culture already in place, we are looking for a Senior Registrar specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, located in Nairobi. You will play a central role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered maternity care.

What we are looking for

This role is for an obstetrician and gynaecologist who is passionate about delivering high-quality, respectful maternity care, values multidisciplinary teamwork, and is excited to practise in a modern, team-based, and tech-enabled care environment. In addition to direct patient care, you will contribute to the ongoing improvement of obstetric pathways and models of care.

What you will do

Clinical Care

  • Running antenatal and postnatal outpatient clinics
  • Conducting deliveries and managing intrapartum care
  • Collaborating closely with nurses, paediatricians, and the wider Malaica team

Quality improvement and clinical development

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical pathways and care models
  • Engage with data, digital tools, and structured workflows to improve patient outcomes
  • Support a learning culture within the clinical team

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with midwives, paediatricians, psychologists, and the wider Malaica team
  • Participate in shared decision-making and coordinated care planning
  • Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented clinical culture

Who you are

  • Qualified Obstetrician Gynaecologist: A degree in Medicine with specialization in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with less than 2 years of experience
  • Certified: Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification
  • Clinically Confident: Experience managing routine and high-risk ANC/PNC patients
  • Tech-savvy: Open to using digital tools, data, and structured workflows to improve care
  • Team Oriented: A team player aligned with Malaica’s values: ambitious, kind and transparent

What success looks like (6–12 months)

  • Mothers consistently receive safe, respectful, and high-quality care
  • Strong collaboration across the multidisciplinary clinical team
  • Clinical pathways are followed, refined, and improved over time
  • Patients feel supported and confident throughout their pregnancy journey
