About myLaurel

At myLaurel, we are driven by a mission to bring urgent, high-acuity, acute-level care directly into the homes of the most vulnerable, frail, and complex patients. Join a team focused on patient-centered care, preventing avoidable ER visits, and reducing readmissions by nearly 50%. We are transforming acute care through an integrated, data-first technology suite.

Summary of the Role

We are seeking a Technical Data Analyst to be the owner of our analytics data management and structure. This role is responsible for the full data lifecycle—from designing and building scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) and data models to implementing statistical analysis and advanced data visualization. You will work closely with our Product, Engineering, Partner, and Clinical Operations teams, translating analytical findings into strategies that enhance service delivery, optimize operational efficiency, and improve patient outcomes.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Data Pipeline & Modeling: Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (ETL/ELT). Define data models and optimize data warehouse performance for analytical workloads.
  • Advanced Analysis: Utilize the Python data science stack (Polars, NumPy, scikit-learn) and Expert SQL to interpret complex healthcare datasets, identify critical trends, and build predictive models to optimize care delivery.
  • Insight Generation: Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., medical staff, engineers, leadership).
  • Visualization & Reporting: Present findings in clear, concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools like Metabase or Tableau.
  • Data Governance & Compliance: Ensure strict data privacy and compliance with relevant healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Technology Leverage: Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate development, optimize code, and increase the velocity of data analysis.
  • BI Support: Support the management and optimization of our business intelligence and analytics software.

What You Will Bring (Required Experience & Expertise)

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • Expertise in Database Languages: Strong, practical mastery of SQL.
  • Proficiency in Python’s Data Science Stack: Experience with libraries like Polars, NumPy, and scikit-learn for statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
  • Data Governance & Regulations: Strong knowledge of data governance principles and healthcare data regulations (HIPAA).
  • Data Transformation: Proven experience with data transformation tools (dbt strongly preferred).
  • Cloud Data Warehouses: Experience with modern cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift).
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder needs and competing requests across clinical, technical, and business teams.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred/Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Metabase, Tableau).
  • Experience with Google Sheets and Google Apps Script.
