Job overview: We are looking for an accomplished Director of Revenue Accounting to lead our revenue recognition processes and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards. This critical role will involve developing and managing the revenue accounting function, providing strategic insight, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in revenue accounting, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for driving improvements and efficiency.
About you: You are a seasoned revenue accounting expert with a deep understanding of ASC 606 and other relevant standards. Your expertise is matched by your leadership skills and ability to develop and implement processes that enhance accuracy and compliance. You have experience leading teams and the capability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to driving excellence in revenue accounting and reporting.
Requirements:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent credentials
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
- 9+ years of experience
- ASC 606 understanding
Your impact:
- Leadership & Strategy: Develop and lead the revenue accounting team, establishing a strategic vision that aligns with company goals and ensures accuracy and compliance in revenue recognition.
- Revenue Recognition: Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring alignment with ASC 606 and other applicable accounting standards.
- Process Improvement: Drive enhancements in revenue accounting processes, leveraging technology to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on complex revenue transactions, developing policies and procedures that ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, sales, legal, and other departments to support business initiatives and ensure accurate revenue forecasting and reporting.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with internal and external auditors on revenue matters, ensuring adherence to all relevant accounting standards and audit requirements.
- Reporting & Analysis: Deliver insightful revenue reporting and analysis to senior management, supporting strategic decision-making and performance evaluation.

- Proven experience implementing revenue recognition automated processes, systems, or tools that enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Background in the technology or SaaS industry, with an understanding of industry-specific revenue challenges.
- Experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm, providing valuable insights into best practices and technical expertise.
- Advanced Excel and data analytics skills, enhancing the ability to conduct detailed revenue analysis.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, particularly with executive leadership, to effectively convey insights and recommendations.

Below is a summary of salary ranges for this role in the following geographies:
California, New York State and Washington State Base Compensation Ranges: $176,800 - $221,000*, Colorado Base Compensation Ranges: $159,120 - $198,900*. Other states may vary.
This role is also eligible for participation in annual cash bonus and equity grants.
