About the Role
We are looking for a Remote Lead Perinatal Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide exceptional remote clinical care while supporting the development and cohesion of our growing NP and nursing teams. This role is ideal for an experienced Ob/Gyn NP with strong clinical acumen, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for elevating both patient care and team function.
This full-time position is 80-90% clinical and 10%-20% leadership, blending direct patient care with administrative and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care (80-90%)
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based perinatal care remotely to patients across their pregnancy journey
- Respond to patient messages and calls with empathy and clinical clarity, including reviewing and communicating lab and imaging results
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, RNs, Care Coordinators and other care team members to manage and coordinate care plans
- Order, conduct, supervise and interpret diagnostic tests
- Manage external referrals, prescribe as indicated, and oversee ongoing care coordination
- Interpret diagnostic data and proactively identify follow-up needs
- Contribute to continuous refinement of Oula’s care protocols and patient-facing content
- Act as a clinical resource for RN team members and participate in joint case discussions
Team Leadership & Support (10-20%)
- Serve as a mentor and clinical resource for other remote NPs and RNs, fostering a culture of learning and excellence
- Oversee onboarding and training for new hires coordinating all aspects of orientation from beginning to end
- Design and deliver training and ongoing professional development programs for the Remote Virtual Care Team including NPs and RNs, including identifying evolving team needs and creating responsive education and support strategies
- Contributes to policy, protocol and workflow development
- Participate in and lead clinical huddles, case reviews, or operational meetings
- Assist with performance feedback and support the Senior Director in maintaining a cohesive and high-functioning team environment
- Be a point of contact for real-time questions and support during clinical shifts when needed
- Perform additional relevant duties as required
About You
- You are a confident and compassionate NP with experience in perinatal care and a passion for improving maternal health outcomes
- You balance clinical independence with a collaborative spirit, working effectively across disciplines and with non-clinical teams
- You are comfortable with remote care models and skilled at connecting with patients through technology
- You enjoy coaching others and helping to strengthen team culture and operations.
- You are highly organized, mission-driven, and committed to health equity and patient-centered care
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted NYS Nurse Practitioner License (or willingness to obtain one)
- Willingness to obtain multiple state licenses at Oula expands including CT license
- Certification by ANCC or AANP
- At least 2 years of leadership experience including mentoring or precepting NP and RN new hires and employees with a strong desire to lead and mentor a team
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Ob/Gyn or perinatal NP
- Experience mentoring peers or leading small clinical teams preferred
- Strong communication skills and comfort with EMR systems and telehealth platforms
- Experience with telemedicine or elements of virtual care
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus
