Oula is seeking a part-time OB/GYN Sonographer to join our growing maternity care practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is ideal for a skilled and compassionate ultrasound professional who is passionate about delivering patient-centered, judgment-free care within a collaborative, team-based model.

As a Sonographer at Oula, you will provide high-quality obstetric and gynecologic imaging services while working closely with midwives, obstetricians, maternal fetal medicine (MFM) specialists, and clinical staff to support comprehensive perinatal care. You will play a key role in delivering a supportive, inclusive, and empowering ultrasound experience for patients.

This is a 0.5 FTE position (20 hours/week), scheduled for 6-hour shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The hourly rate for this role is $47.32.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations, including:
    • Nuchal Translucency (NT) scans
    • Cervical length assessments
    • Biophysical Profiles (BPPs)
    • Detailed fetal anatomy scans
    • Pelvic and transvaginal ultrasounds

  • Ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging and make necessary technical adjustments
  • Evaluate images for clarity and completeness prior to provider review
  • Communicate preliminary findings to supervising physicians or remote MFM specialists in accordance with protocol
  • Educate patients about ultrasound procedures and answer questions with clarity and empathy
  • Position patients safely and comfortably during examinations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot sonography equipment
  • Support additional ultrasonography-related duties as needed

About You

  • ARDMS certified (required)
  • Nuchal Translucency (NT) certification required
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience performing obstetric ultrasounds, including detailed anatomy scans
  • Experience with pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound preferred
  • Experience in an OB/GYN or maternal-fetal medicine clinical setting preferred
  • Strong technical proficiency and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to explain technical information in a clear, patient-friendly manner
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating within an interdisciplinary care team
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills
