THE ROLE
The Internal Communication & Engagement Specialist will lead internal communication and employee engagement initiatives, playing a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the employee experience across our organization. This role is ideal for someone who is an exceptional communicator (both verbal and written) and has a keen ability to identify and address communication gaps in a timely manner. A passion for fostering employee engagement—both remotely and in-person—is essential.
Work Environment: This is a hybrid position with the flexibility to work remotely. However, you will be expected to be in the office (Los Angeles) at least once a week when there are no in-person activities and every day during the preparation and execution of in-person programming or meetings. Flexibility to come into the office for other in-person activities as needed is also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of internal communication channels, making recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a company-wide event calendar to ensure that internal communications are timely, relevant, and broadly communicated across FC and HQ.
  • Identify opportunities to promote employee engagement and help foster a positive company culture during in-person/remote activities.
  • Drive ownership of company event programming and draft a proposed agenda for all in-person events.
  • Maintain the company’s internal communication tools, ensuring they are up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligned with the company’s goals and values.

  • Own and lead the company’s weekly All Hands meetings, ensuring they are substantial, productive, and impactful. Manage all aspects of the meeting, including coordinating with stakeholders, preparing content, and ensuring a seamless and timely flow of the agenda.
  • Evaluate whether other communication channels should transition to centralized ownership by Internal Communications.
  • Mission
  • Work closely with the Mission Team to align internal communication strategies with the company’s mission of making healthy and sustainable living easy and affordable for everyone. Ensure that all messaging supports and amplifies mission-driven initiatives.
  • Support the Mission Team in planning, promoting, and executing mission-related events. Provide communication support to ensure these initiatives are effectively communicated and focused on participation and engagement.

  • Serve as the POC for all scheduled mission-focused activities, ensuring you are the in-person representative of the People Ops department at mission-related company events. Ensure that all event deliverables are provided in a timely manner and that the event runs smoothly.
  • Thriver Engagement
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of in-person company events, ensuring that each event aligns with the company’s mission and values. These may include Thrive Week(s), ERG activities, Leadership Summits, and mission-driven activities.
  • Gather feedback from participants after each event to assess impact and identify areas for improvement. Use this feedback to refine and enhance future events, ensuring they consistently deliver a high-quality experience.
  • Work closely with the Mission Team, HR, and other key stakeholders to align event goals with broader company objectives. Ensure that all events support the company’s mission and foster a sense of community and engagement among employees.
  • Manage event budgets effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated in a way that maximizes the impact of each event while staying within financial constraints.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to promote events internally, ensuring high employee participation. Collaborate with the internal communication team to craft messages that generate excitement and highlight the importance of each event.
