The Outbound Lead is responsible for leading a team of associates to ensure efficient order picking, packing, and shipping processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, leadership capabilities, and a focus on maintaining high productivity and quality standards. The Distribution Lead will play a critical role in achieving operational goals, enhancing workflows, and fostering a positive team culture.
SCHEDULE
Thursday, 4:30pm-5am / Friday & Saturday, 5:30pm-5am (overtime as needed)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise, guide, and motivate a team of outbound associates, ensuring adherence to daily schedules and task assignments.
- Provide hands-on support, including training new team members and reinforcing standard operating procedures.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and results-driven work environment.
- Oversee the outbound processes, including order picking, packing, and shipping, to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Monitor workflows to optimize efficiency, minimize delays, and resolve bottlenecks in real-time.
- Perform regular quality checks to ensure orders meet company standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve outbound operations, implement best practices, and collaborate with management to enhance overall performance.
- Utilize data and metrics to monitor team performance and recommend process changes to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Work closely with inventory and replenishment teams to ensure product availability and prevent fulfillment delays.
- Maintain accurate records of outbound shipments and ensure compliance with inventory control procedures.
- Promote and enforce adherence to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and operational guidelines.
- Provide regular updates to management regarding team performance, outbound metrics, and operational challenges.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless coordination across the fulfillment center.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of outbound operations, including order picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to use warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technology.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Experience in e-commerce or high-volume distribution environments (preferred)
- Familiarity with lean processes, Six Sigma, or other operational improvement methodologies (preferred)

JOB INFORMATION
- Compensation Description - The starting hourly pay rate for this position is $21.00 + a $1.00 shift differential.
- Rate of pay may increase over time based upon: skill, level of responsibility, additional duties, seniority, quantity or quality of production or other legitimate, business-related factors.
