THE ROLE
This role serves as the steward of Thrive Market’s onsite experience—part shopkeeper, part strategist, and part commercial driver. The ideal candidate blends strong merchandising instincts with data-driven decision-making, ensuring the site feels curated, seasonally relevant, and aligned to member needs. This role will also lead onsite monetization strategy, owning and growing the investment tied to our merchandising real estate in ways that enhance the member experience and support category goals. The right candidate is equal parts creative curator and revenue-minded operator, with a knack for optimizing space, anticipating trends, and unlocking new opportunities for growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own all existing onsite merchandising placements (e.g., banners, Trending Now), including creative direction, briefing and asset requests, scheduling, accuracy checks, and performance reporting, ensuring these high-volume surfaces remain compelling and relevant.
- Conduct regular end-to-end site audits to identify friction in product discovery, inconsistent or outdated merchandising, and missed selling opportunities.
- Ensure onsite content remains accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with broader merchandising and marketing priorities.
- Recommend, and partner closely with Product to execute adjustments to product placement, navigation, and content blocks to surface priority items and categories.
- Build and execute the seasonal merchandising calendar, aligning storytelling, product curation, and onsite priorities to seasonal trends and member demand (e.g., NA reset in January, Pumpkin in Fall).
- Partner with internal teams to feature high-potential categories, key launches, margin-accretive items, and under-penetrated segments.
- Own sitewide merchandising updates during major promotional periods (e.g., Black Friday), ensuring placements are fully optimized, flawlessly executed, and continuously iterated to enhance the member experience.
- Use data and performance insights to identify what’s resonating (and what’s not) and adjust merchandising plans accordingly.
- Lead monetization strategy and pricing for current onsite placements, ensuring offerings meet and exceed commercial targets.
- Partner with Product to develop new merchandising formats (modules, carousels, etc.) that enhance product discoverability and expand brand visibility opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve tooling, tracking, and insights to drive smarter placement decisions and strengthen brand partner value.
- Own and grow the onsite marketing investment P&L, maximizing current opportunities while expanding total funding in ways that elevate the member experience and support category strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in site merchandising, digital merchandising, or ecommerce experience management.
- Proven track record owning onsite placements, optimizing product discoverability, and driving commercial impact through merchandising.
- Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams to influence tooling, build new onsite features, and execute site updates with precision.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into actionable merchandising decisions.
- Proven ability to work highly cross-functionally, aligning Creative, Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams around shared merchandising goals.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a high degree of ownership and attention to detail.
