Competencies

  • Self-driven and responsible: You are a motivated self-starter that is comfortable charting a path through the unknown. You have a strong sense of responsibility for your own work as well as the work of your team. You know that even if you are not the one writing the code or creating the design, you hold responsibility for defining the work in a way that is logical and crystal clear. You remove roadblocks for your team as complications arise. You have strong follow-through and are known by your peers as someone who can drive hard projects to completion.
  • Data-driven: You understand that a problem cannot be solved until it is properly understood, and you know that to understand a problem you need to deeply understand the people and processes it affects and why. You use qualitative and quantitative research and data to challenge assumptions, back up ideas, and demonstrate success. You know how to extract insights from data (SQL skills are a strong plus) and synthesize user feedback into actions.
  • Strong execution: Ability to clearly plan and communicate the details of getting from a big idea to a shipped product/feature. Detail oriented and thorough. You are comfortable getting into the weeds on a variety of technical issues, and do not hesitate to ask questions in order to fully understand the scope of work and trade offs. You recognize trade-offs quickly and can help define the work in a way that optimizes for both efficiency and value.
  • Collaborative: You work seamlessly with a wide range of teams in order to create solutions. You build strong relationships with your teammates, elevate work across teams, and are adept at getting what you need from the many stakeholders involved in cross-functional work.
  • Mission-first: You want to deeply understand the nonprofit sector, our nonprofit and volunteer users, and what critical problems our product is solving. You are motivated by the Catchafire vision to transform the nonprofit sector
  • Fast Study, Systems Thinker: You synthesize information quickly and are constantly driving improvements based on new information and learnings. You structure your own work in a systematic, scalable way to maximize learning and help you and your team accomplish goals efficiently.
