About the Role and the Department
The Partnerships team is focused on winning new business so that more nonprofits have access to the tools, skills, and staffing they need to sustain their missions. Our Partnerships team is a key revenue driver that communicates the value of Catchafire and drives partnerships with grantmaking foundations, corporate philanthropy, and private family foundations.
As an Outreach Specialist - Social Impact Contractor, you’ll be an external-facing relationship builder responsible for creating authentic initial conversations with prospective partners. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications. You’ll own top-of-funnel prospecting, introduce Catchafire’s value to new audiences, and help drive our growth.
What you’ll do:
-
Own top-of-funnel outreach end-to-end.
Proactively identify and engage high-potential accounts through personalized email sequences and targeted LinkedIn outreach.
Leverage ecosystem relationships, partner referrals, and development opportunities to supplement outbound prospecting and surface warm introduction opportunities.
Build a balanced, qualified pipeline of target prospects, foundations, corporate philanthropy programs, and family foundations, using a consultative, value-driven outreach approach that positions Catchafire as a trusted partner.
Use modern sales and data tooling (e.g., Hubspot, CauseIQ, AI workflows) to creatively source, research, and build an outbound pipeline in a high ownership environment, where your outreach directly shapes our revenue.
Maintain meticulous records of all outbound activities, prospect interactions, and pipeline status in HubSpot. Your data discipline gives the team visibility into what is working and where to invest.
Consistently hit and surpass daily, weekly, and monthly lead generation targets, driving the overall success of our sales team.
Experience:
5 years of Sales, Business Development, or fundraising experience, ideally in B2B enterprise SaaS. Prior SDR, BDR, or development associate experience strongly preferred.
Proven ability to generate a pipeline through outbound, not just responding to inbound interest.
Comfortable selling a strategic platform, not a single feature tool.
Familiarity in the philanthropic sector, nonprofit ecosystem, or foundation grantmaking. Your understanding of how foundations make decisions can speak credibility to a program officer or philanthropy director.
Proficiency with HubSpot or a comparable CRM system. You log activity consistently, maintain clean records, and use data to manage your own performance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience at a startup or scale-up where the playbook was still being written. You have sold something new to someone skeptical and won.
A collaborative spirit with an interest in a team-based selling environment
