About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and entrepreneurial Associate Commercial and Product Counsel to join our team at Contentsquare's France headquarters in Paris. Reporting to the EMEA Commercial and Product Legal Director, you will be an independent contributor and key member of the EMEA Commercial Legal Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-growth, global SaaS company where our Legal team is genuinely seen as a vital business partner. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy tackling complex commercial negotiations, and bring expertise and enthusiasm to everything you do, then we encourage you to apply! This is a unique opportunity to be part of the creation of the legal product function foundation at Contentsquare. While the primary focus remains commercial, a strong interest in product is essential.
What You'll Do
• Be an independent contributor on the EMEA Commercial Legal Team with the ability to hit the ground running in complex SaaS negotiations
• Understand the value of teamwork and partnership in legal representation; bring experience, collaboration, good humor, and even a little joy to each day
• Review, draft, and negotiate all forms of company commercial contracts, including NDAs, SaaS Agreements, Order Forms, DPAs, Service Level Agreements and Partner Agreements
• Partner closely with Product Managers, designers, and developers to provide legal guidance throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Partner with our sales and customer success teams to build trust and synergies that are critical to our growth and success
• Apply your expertise in core contractual areas such as indemnification, limitations of liability, IP, security, AI, and privacy standards to our fast-paced negotiations
• Help develop and implement standard templates, playbooks, and processes utilizing AI to facilitate efficient workflows
• Work closely with internal stakeholders including sales, finance, FP&A, sales enablement and other departments to ensure global alignment in line with our corporate vision and standards
• Provide training to the sales and operational teams on processes, compliance, and relevant contractual issues
• Collaborate on and lead other project-based work within the scope of the legal department's responsibilities on an as-needed basis
What You'll Bring
• Be tech-savvy or demonstrate a keen interest in how our SaaS solutions work.
• Minimum 3 years of broad global licensing experience in a late-stage startup or early-stage public SaaS environment
• Experience working directly with clients and internal sales teams
• Strong and professional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements
• Ability to work in a global company and find nimble solutions to unique issues
• A highly commercial approach led by the core value that our stakeholders are our partners
• A love for fast-moving, business-oriented environments typical of high-growth companies
• Enjoyment of working as part of a team and collaborating effectively in a largely remote setting
• An in-depth understanding of licensing, data and privacy law, and current SaaS standards
• Multi-lingual ability is a strong plus
• A passion for what you do and the ability to be a positive, even fun, influence on your team and client groups, with ideas and motivation being highly welcome
